Belichick Press Conference Draws Hilarious Reactions on Social Media

A scandal like Deflategate is bound to draw out the best — and worst — in people. What better place to find both ends of the spectrum than on Twitter?
There are some good, bad, and hilarious reactions to Bill Belichick’s Saturday press conference, in which he addressed the Patriots’ own investigation into how their footballs became less-than-fully inflated.
Belichick’s knowledge of physics had a few people drawing comparisons to other well-known scientists:

The NFL may have the burden of proof, but there are some who think that a punishment should fall on the Patriots regardless of what we know — or don’t know — about the incident:
I don’t care that we don’t know who did what. Patriots and their head coach need to be held accountable. Fine & suspension are needed.

Many writers were out in force this week to bury the Patriots for their alleged misdeeds, but one fan has been quick to douse all those hot takes with ice cold water:
Remember this hot take from @SI_PeterKing yesterday? Couldn’t bury the #Patriots fast enough. “The Conclusion” Lol pic.twitter.com/5NdNc8Vhwk

One writer, however, paid Belichick one of the highest compliments I’ve ever seen by calling his press conference “straight gangster”:
Straight gangster move by Belichick, doubling down, aggressive, daring the league office he despises to prove him wrong

Many fans and writers were stuck on Belichick’s reference to My Cousin Vinny when the Patriots head coach said, “I would not say that I’m the Mona Lisa Vito of the football world, as she was in the car expertise area, alright?”

Another fan saw a little Danny DeVito in Belichick’s presser:

Comparitively speaking, Patriots PR did a good job of handling this press conference:
Patriots PR is better than Ravens PR. Ravens would have put the footballs on stage to apologize for being underinflated.

One former Patriots beat writer, now covering the New Orleans Saints, recently noticed the same laws of physics in effect in his car.
No lie, just got in my car and the tire light was on. Should I call Belichick to fix it? pic.twitter.com/r8BBnGduqV

But the tweet of the day goes to CSN New England’s Tom Curran, who asked some questions that drew the ire of Belichick, which got a great reaction from his children:
My own kid just texted, “Hope you enjoyed that roast session Bill gave you…”
