The late fill
The stands at Fenway are probably about 80 percent filled as we get started here in Game 1. The weekday 1 p.m. start time and the fact that this is a makeup game from earlier this season probably has a lot to do with that. I think it’s safe to assume that the park will still be banged out. And if my conversation with the ‘rents a few moments ago — they’re experiencing a fruitless pursuit of a parking space in the Fens — is any indication, it will be a late arriving crowd.
The morning clouds have given way here to hazy skies. The lights are on.
