Inside the NBA put Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini on graphic poking fun at Celtics’ exit

"Who are those two people at the front of the boat?" asked Kenny Smith.

Inside The NBA’s “Gone Fishing” segment pokes fun at NBA teams who have been eliminated from the playoffs.

During the segment, there are graphics showing players, coaches, and sometimes even celebrities and fictional characters associated with the losing team’s city. They’re typically shown on a boat or with fishing gear in their hands.

This weekend, it was Boston’s turn to be mocked after the Celtics were eliminated by the 76ers in Game 7 of the first-round of the playoffs at TD Garden on Saturday night.

The Celtics-themed graphic showed a smiling Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on a boat with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Mark Wahlberg, and other celebrities including Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini.

“Who are the two people at the front [of the boat]?” Kenny Smith asked, referencing Vrabel and Russini.

“Stop it,” Charles Barkley said. “Stop it.”

The graphic featured Vrabel holding Russini by the waist at the front of the boat while she had her arms outstretched. Ernie Johnson listed the celebrities on the boat but did not mention Vrabel and Russini by name.

“That’s all I see on that boat, I don’t see anything else,” Johnson said.

The Patriots coach missed Day 3 of last month’s NFL Draft in order to attend counseling after he and Russini were photographed together holding hands and spending time in a hot tub at a resort. He has since returned to work with the team.

Russini resigned from her job as a senior NFL insider for The Athletic after the photos were published. The NFL has said it won’t investigate Vrabel, who is the reigning NFL Coach of the Year. Vrabel said he had tough conversation with his family and said that he will give them and the Patriots his best moving forward.

The Patriots began their offseason workout program on April 20 and will hold OTAs later this month.
