Davis: ‘It was a hard play’

Celtics forward Glen Davis answered a couple of questions about the Flagrant 2 foul he was given on a play against Anderson Varejao at the 9:09 mark in the third quarter.

“I’m not intentionally trying to hurt anybody,” said Davis. “It was a hard play. It was an awkward situation cause I got their late. I thought I had my hand on the ball. It was kind of weird.

“Everybody knows I’m a nice guy. I’m not trying to hurt anybody out here.”

A good-natured Davis said he was surprised by the reaction of the Cleveland players toward him.

“I was kind of laughing a little bit,” he said. “Because I’ve never had it happen before. I really kept my cool. I was surprised…it’s the game of basketball. They’re trying to protect their teammate.”
