Boston Celtics

Celtics, 104-59 (final)

Is it worse to be booed in your own building, or heckled by your own fans in the building of your rival?

The New York Knicks have now experienced both.

A Knicks fan held up a sign that read “Time to terminate Isiah” with his team trailing by more than 40 points in the third quarter. The fan then posed for pictures with curious Celtics fans.

Sadly, this probably doesn’t come close to the low-moment of the season for the Knicks who failed to show up to a nationally-televised game with the Celtics tonight.

The game was so lopsided that several Celtics reserves saw extended minutes. Glen Davis, quickly becoming a fan-favorite, played 31 minutes and had 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Gabe Pruitt played the entire fourth quarter. Pruitt had appeared in just two games all season, and his season-high for minutes was three.

At one point the Celtics were up 93-43, and the “Let’s go Celtics” chant was so loud you could barely hear the PA announcer.

Paul Pierce and Ray Allen led the Celtics with 21 points each. Neither one played in the fourth quarter. Kevin Garnett played just 22 minutes and failed to score in double-figures. He finished with 8 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Three other players (Davis, Rajon Rondo, and Eddie House) scored in double-figures for Boston. Scott Pollard was the only active Celtics player who did not see action. The team had just 9 turnovers, one of which was for holding the ball as the shot clock expired at the end of the game.

The Knicks shot an abysmal 30.3 percent for the game. Not a single player scored in double-figures for New York.

We’ll have more reaction from the Garden in a bit.
