Welcome to the Garden, where Celtics season ticket holders are waiting to file into a 2007 NBA Draft party on the floor of the arena.
The Celtics are potentially less than two hours away from deciding on a draft pick at the No. 5 spot, but dozens of team and arena employees are putting the final touches on an elaborate party here.
In addition to lowering the scoreboard, the Celtics have lowered their 16 championship banners down to about half their usual height. It’s an ostentatious display by a team so eager to put a team on the floor worthy of its history.
Celtics fans hope they get a step closer to that tonight.
