Draft night plan
NBA Draft Day 2007 is finally upon us.
The Boston Celtics hold the Nos. 5 and 32 picks in tonight’s draft, which begins at 7:30 p.m. There is five-minute time limit between picks in the first round, meaning the Celtics should pick sometime around 7:55 p.m., barring any trades. There are two minutes between picks in the second round.
The draft takes place at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where potential Celtics draftees Corey Brewer, Yi Jianlian, Jeff Green, Al Horford, and Al Thornton are all expected to be. Brewer is expected to chat with fans after the draft, according to NBA.com. The Globe’s Peter May will be blogging with draft updates from New York all evening.
The Celtics are also holding a draft event at the TD Banknorth Garden. Celtics director of basketball operations Danny Ainge and coach Doc Rivers are expected to check in with the assembled media there sometime during the draft. Celtics season ticket holders have also been invited to the Garden to watch the draft with other fans. We’ll be blogging with updates from the Garden as well.
And of course, we’ll keep you posted if the Celtics make any moves before the draft.
