Agent: KG nixes Boston
Minnesota forward Kevin Garnett does not want to play for Boston, and a trade between the Celtics and Timberwolves now seems unlikely, Garnett’s agent Andy Miller told ESPN.com Thursday.
“The Boston trade isn’t happening,” Miller, told ESPN.com’s Chris Sheridan. “If a trade were to happen, that’s not a destination that we’re interested in pursuing.”
Garnett’s thoughts on a potential destination are powerful given his ability to opt out of his current contract after the 2008 season. That ability would make Boston less likely to part with Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair, and the No. 5 pick in this year’s draft (one of the potential deals being floated for Garnett) for one year of Garnett’s services.
Miller informed both the Celtics and Timberwolves on Thursday that Garnett would not be interested in playing for Boston, according to ESPN.com.
