Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 13-year-old girl who went missing Friday after not returning home from school.

Mineidys Soto-Lugo, of Dorchester, contacted a family member on Saturday to say she was safe and staying with a friend, but she did not give her location, according to a statement from the Boston Police Department.
Soto-Lugo is described as Hispanic, approximately 5’2″ tall, with a medium build, brown eyes, and brown shoulder-length hair with a blond streak. She was last seen wearing dark blue sweatpants and a blue Nike tech hoodie, according to police.
Anyone with information on Soto-Lugo’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Boston police detectives at 617-343-2309.
