2 Chelsea High School students seriously injured in stabbing

Two Chelsea High School students were hospitalized Friday afternoon with serious injuries after they were both stabbed, according to authorities.

Chelsea police said officers responded to a fight that broke out around 2:25 p.m. in the area of Everett Avenue and Maple Street. At the scene near the railroad tracks, police said at least one person was brandishing a knife and stabbing two male victims.

Both students sustained “serious stab wounds to the abdomen area” and were transported to a Boston hospital for treatment, according to police.

Police said they are looking for at least one suspect in connection to the incident, who they described as a Hispanic male, about 20 years old, with “spiked hair.”

“He was wearing a black jacket, blue pants, Nike sneakers, and was armed with a knife,” police said.

The suspect may not have acted alone, according to police.

“While the motive for the attacks is unknown, the suspect and victims may be known to each other,” police said.

The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing, according to police.
