Members of the Boston Children’s Chorus will gather Tuesday night to “lift each other up” after the gun violence last week in Louisiana, Minnesota, and Dallas.

The chorus will meet between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the BCC offices on Shawmut Avenue. There will be activities for young children, food, and drink.

The chorus is a diverse group made up of nearly 500 singers representing 110 zip codes of Greater Boston. The gathering is a way for chorus families “to come together to grieve, to spark dialogue, to be a helping hand,” according to chorus officials.

Last week, two black men were shot by police in Louisiana and Minnesota, and five police officers were shot by a sniper in Dallas.

“These acts of violence affect every single one of us, because they impact the larger community that we are a part of,” said chorus officials. “Instead of walking away, let’s come together. Instead of turning away, let’s unite our diverse communities, show compassion, do our part, and support each other.”

The chorus’s anthem, “We Sing,” includes the words “We sing as we stand together/Voices calling out for change/We’re gonna stand for peace/We’re gonna sing for joy/We will unite for home/And for freedom.”
