Burlington Police Seek Bank Robbery Suspect
Burlington Police are on the hunt for the man they say robbed a bank Thursday afternoon, and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
Just after 5 p.m., police responded to the Citizens Bank at 248 Middlesex Turnpike. Employees there said a man walked into the bank and handed the teller a note. He claimed to have a gun.
After receiving “a quantity of cash,’’ the suspect fled the bank in the direction of Bedford Street/Route 62. Police say he may have escaped in a white SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer or Mercury Mountaineer. No one was injured.
The suspect — who was wearing a camouflage coat, black pants, and a furry “trooper hat’’ with ear flaps — is described as having tanned skin, an average build, and facial hair.
Anyone who recognizes the man or has any information about the incident can call Burlington Police at 781-272-1212. Callers can remain anonymous.
The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is assisting Burlington Police Detectives in the investigation.
