Victims in fatal Lawrence crash both had gunshot wounds, DA says

One woman died on Friday, and a man died on Saturday evening, the DA said.

Two people who died after a car crash in Lawrence Thursday night were both suffering from gunshot wounds, the local district attorney said.

The crash occurred near 63 Erving Ave. at around 9:21 p.m. on April 30, the office of Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker said in a press release.

Police responded to a car crash involving two people in a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, the DA said.

Nayeli Liriano, 20, and Alexander Carvajal Mendez, 20, were found inside the car and were each suffering from a gunshot wound, Tucker’s office said.

Liriano was brought to a local hospital, where she died Friday morning, the DA said.
