Spotlight — the upcoming film based on The Boston Globe’s Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation into the Catholic church abuse scandal — finally has a release date. The Open Road Films flick will open in select theaters November 6 and will open nationwide November 20.
The production filmed select scenes in Boston and in the Globe’s Morrissey Boulevard office. It stars Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams as Spotlight investigative reporters Michael Rezendes and Sacha Pfeiffer. Liev Schreiber will play then editor-in-chief Marty Baron with Michael Keaton as Spotlight team editor Walter “Robby’’ Robinson.
