Much of the region should officially reach heat-wave status on Friday, with another scorcher on tap.

Forecasters are calling for sunny skies, high humidity, and temperatures in the low to mid 90s in interior locations. It could be a bit cooler near the coast and on the Cape and Islands.

Showers move in on Saturday as the heat and humidity eventually depart. Dry, pleasant weather is expected by Sunday.
