The Boston area’s brutal heatwave was broken up Wednesday by waves of severe weather moving across Massachusetts.

Storms knocked out power and brought down trees. At 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night, over 25,000 customers were without power in the state, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. No injuries or deaths were reported, National Weather Service meteorologist Kristie Smith told The Boston Globe.

Here is a roundup of images, videos, and social media posts from the storm.

And earlier over Fenway:

The start of the game was delayed by 30 minutes due to rain in the area, but it did produce a rainbow over Fenway Park before it began. (Jim Davis/Globe Staff).
