The Boston area’s brutal heatwave was broken up Wednesday by waves of severe weather moving across Massachusetts.
Storms knocked out power and brought down trees. At 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night, over 25,000 customers were without power in the state, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. No injuries or deaths were reported, National Weather Service meteorologist Kristie Smith told The Boston Globe.
Here is a roundup of images, videos, and social media posts from the storm.

It's always impressive to see lightning in slow-motion. Folks in many parts of Massachusetts have experienced a light show from Mother Nature tonight. #MAwx #NorwoodMA pic.twitter.com/9MXxPMc9fH
