Maps: Forecasters warn of heavy rain and high winds in Massachusetts
The National Weather Service is warning residents to be prepared for “slick, hazardous travel especially on untreated, secondary roadways” through the morning.
National Weather Service forecasters are warning that a fast-moving storm will bring heavy rain and strong winds to Massachusetts Tuesday morning and afternoon.The service issued a winter weather advisory for central and northern parts of the Bay State, warning residents to be prepared for “slick, hazardous travel especially on untreated, secondary roadways” through the morning.

Dense fog is also a hazard commuters will face through the morning.

Heavy rain and high winds will stretch into the afternoon, and forecasters cautioned that some parts of Massachusetts are at risk for flooding that could impact the evening commute and power outages.

Boston will see rainfall and a possibly thunderstorm before 4 p.m., with a chance of showers continuing into the evening, according to the city’s 7-day forecast. The city could see a high of 59 degrees, wind gusts of 32 mph, and new rainfall amounts of up to an inch.
