This season’s first snowstorm delivered — for the most part — as expected.

According to the National Weather Service’s observations, Boston received 6.1 inches of snowfall, while most areas in southern New England saw between 3 to 6 inches of accumulation. However, some pockets did get a little bit more.

Further north, the snowfall in New Hampshire and Maine mostly ranged between 4 to 6 inches, although most mountain and coastal regions got an inch or two more. Southern Vermont also received 4 to 6 inches, while the northern half of the state was spared from the sort of heavy snowfall that hit New England.
