The nation’s 250th birthday takes center stage this year, making Massachusetts one of the top destinations in the U.S. in 2026, according to The New York Times.
Massachusetts made the publication’s list of “52 places to go in 2026,” released on Tuesday. “Revolutionary America” was the No. 1 entry on the list, with several states in the Northeast mentioned alongside Massachusetts.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident: Celebrations abound for the United States’ 250th birthday, and travelers across the Northeast have plenty of destinations to choose from,” wrote The New York Times.
The publication named celebrations in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C., and wrote, “Massachusetts, Virginia and New York, among the colonies that became America’s first states, also have stacked calendars.”
