Toronto’s Design Exchange
While in this wonderful city recently, I visited the Design Exchange, Canada’s design museum. Located downtown in the historic Toronto Stock Exchange building, the museum promotes all aspects of design. Its exhibits include a permanent collection and rotating shows including fall exhibitions “Vertical Urban Factory’’ and “Considering the Quake: Seismic Design on the Edge.’’ The Design Exchange abuts the Toronto-Dominion Centre, designed by Mies van der Rohe, where a lobby exhibit celebrates the building’s green roof garden. 416-363-6121, www.dx.org
