A New England island is a “must-see” destination this summer, according to USA Today, and it’s not Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard.

The publication recently released a list of the 10 best summer travel destinations in America, part of its 2025 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and Rhode Island’s Block Island ranked No. 7.

Here’s what USA Today wrote about Block Island:

“A quintessential summer retreat, Block Island, Rhode Island, offers around 17 miles of unspoiled beaches, scenic bluffs, and historic lighthouses. Visitors can enjoy activities like sailing, kayaking, and hiking. The island hosts events such as Block Island Arts and Artisans Festival in August, showcasing local crafts for art lovers, while foodies will enjoy the diverse dining scene, featuring fresh seafood and farm-to-table options.”
