A new campground in the heart of Western Massachusetts will welcome travelers this summer.
Huttopia Berkshires, a 123-acre campground in Hancock, opens on July 6. Huttopia is known for its sustainable, accessible, ready-to-camp accommodations in nature and this is the company’s first property in Massachusetts.
The four-season campground, which overlooks the landscapes of Jiminy Peak, will include 55 lodging types, a Café Bistro, swimming pool with mountain views, and communal fire pits.
“Huttopia Berkshires represents our commitment to creating immersive natural experiences without sacrificing comfort,” said Céline Bossanne, founder of Huttopia, in a statement. “We’ve designed this location to showcase the remarkable beauty of the Berkshires throughout all four seasons, providing guests with an outdoor experience that blends perfectly into the surrounding culture, whether you’re seeking adventure, respite from the city, or literary inspiration.”
Nearby activities include hiking, mountain biking, paddling on local lakes, skiing, Tanglewood, the Norman Rockwell Museum, and more.
Huttopia Berkshires will feature 45 seasonal wood and canvas tents and 11 year-round cabins.
Guests an choose from the following accommodations:
— Bonaventure tents include a queen bed, electricity, a kitchen kit with a cooler, cookware, and shared bath houses.
— Canadienne tents have two bedrooms (for up to five guests), electricity, cooking equipment, a sink and mini fridge, wood stove, wooden terrace, barbecue and fire pit, and shared bath houses.
— Trappeur tents have two bedrooms (for up to five guests), an ensuite bathroom, electricity, cooking equipment, a sink and mini fridge, wood stove, wooden terrace, and barbecue and fire pit.
— Sierra cabins feature two bedrooms (for up to five guests) a central fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and an ensuite bathroom. The cabins are a brand-new, year-round design for Huttopia.
The family-owned company says it will expand its Berkshires location in 2026 and offer 90 accommodations.
Huttopia, founded in 1999, has eight destinations across the U.S. and Canada, including in the White Mountains and Southern Maine.
Reservations for Huttopia Berkshires opened on April 2.
