Chicago hopeless
It’s not likely to happen of course, what with the Cubbies in an 0-2 hole to the Diamondbacks in their NLDS series, but if the Red Sox and Cubs were to meet in the World Series (a dream apocalyptical scenario in 2003, now just a potentially cool showdown) CNN says to expect historic highs for ticket sales.
Like insanely historic.
“If the Cubs rally and somehow make it to the World Series, we are likely to see even higher prices. One seller is already listing a pair of tickets for $75,000 each,” writes CNNMoney’s Chris Isidore.
Whoa.
Isidore reports that a pair of World Series seats in Chicago have already gone for $6,000 each, which tops the high price paid last October on StubHub for a Cardinals-Tigers game.
$75,000? Three years of college or nine innings? Seems easy.
Then again, it might be the only way Bartman could get in.
