Fan critically injured in fall at stadium during Patriots-Titans game

The 37-year-old man was reportedly reaching for a T-shirt when he fell over a railing.

A 37-year-old fan was critically injured Sunday during the Patriots-Titans game in Nashville, Tennessee, when he fell from a seating area to the ground, the Tennessean reports. Team cheerleaders were throwing T-shirts into the crowd during the game when Thomas Carrico Jr. reached for one that had landed on the awning above the tunnel into the Titans locker room. He lost his balance and fell over the railing through the tarp to the concrete floor below around 2:30 p.m., according to the newspaper. Police told the Tennessean the 37-year-old from Goodlettesville, Tennessee, was in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Sunday night.
