FOXBOROUGH — Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B announced on Wednesday that she and Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs are having a baby.

Diggs, who spoke to reporters at his locker before practice on Wednesday, was asked to confirm if it was true. He offered a short response, saying that he did not want to talk much about the subject.

“Oh, my personal life? I told you, I don’t talk too much about it,” Diggs said with a smile. “I heard about it.”

He was also asked if there would be any celebrations in the near future.

“We’ll see,” the Patriots receiver responded.

Cardi B made the announcement on “CBS Mornings” during an interview with Gayle King on Wednesday morning, referring to Diggs as her boyfriend. The child will be her fourth. She has three children with rapper Offset, from whom she filed for divorce last year. She said the baby is due before her tour kicks off in February.

“I’m excited. I’m happy. I feel like I’m in a good space,” Cardi B said. “I feel very strong, I feel very powerful that I’m doing all this work. But, I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby, me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other. We’re like in the same space in our careers.”

Diggs signed a three-year deal with the Patriots in the offseason worth up to $69 million. The four-time Pro Bowler had four catches on five targets for 32 yards in the Patriots’ win against the Dolphins on Sunday.

The 31-year-old receiver is still getting back in the swing of things after recovering from offseason ACL surgery.

“It’s not too much about my game, just more so the overall offense, like learning, being out there,” Diggs said. “I didn’t have too much OTAs but I was a part of training camp. I didn’t get any preseason was as far as like bing back playing in the game, getting tackled again.”

“Getting back to the little things such as catching the ball and knifing. I’m used to contact,” he added. “But getting used to reaction-based, putting your feet in the ground consistently, that’s really what it is. I missed football so much. I love being out there, I’m excited when I’m out there even when I’m tired.”

Sunday’s win marked the first time the Patriots beat the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium since 2019.

“It’s super early. I try not to pay too much attention to the chatter, but right now I’m at a point where I’m just doing what I’m told,” Diggs said. “I’m just doing what’s asked of me. I want to be a key point in this offense as far as being a part of the sail when things are going in the right direction.

“We’ve got a young team. We’re out there fighting, getting on the same page. You see things kind of clicking here and there,” he added. “I just want to be a part of it, you know what I’m saying? I’m just trying to do what I’m asked and be consistent, having a young quarterback that can ball, trying to be in the right spot for him. Gaining that confidence throughout games is going to play dividends for us.”
