The Patriots swatted the Dolphins aside 43-0 on Sunday, moving the team’s record on the season to a comfortable 2-0.

New England’s defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown since the AFC Championship Game last season, taking two interceptions back for touchdowns against Miami.

Elsewhere, the Red Sox beat the Phillies 6-3 as Christian Vasquez drove in five runs.

Chase Winovich talked about the special moment before his first sack: During the Patriots’ dominant defensive display against the Dolphins on Sunday, rookie defensive end Chase Winovich recorded his first sack as an NFL player.

After the game, Winovich talked about how he foresaw the moment after spotting — of all things — a butterfly.

“Before I got my sack, my grandmother, who passed away, she always said she would come back as a butterfly. And I was tearing up a little bit on the field,” Winovich told reporters. “It was literally a couple of plays before, I saw a butterfly flying around and I was like, ‘That has to mean something.’ Sure enough, a couple of plays later luckily I came home, my teammates had great coverage and set it up for me.”

Winovich recorded half a sack earlier in the game (splitting it with Jamie Collins) but got one all to himself later on.

“It’s just something to build off of,” Winovich explained. “I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.”

Trivia: The Patriots won on Sunday 43-0, the second greatest margin of victory in a shutout in team history. The only game to eclipse that was the 59-0 destruction of the Titans in 2009. In one of the more devastating stat lines ever, Tennessee completed just 2 of 14 passing attempts for -7 yards. Who were the two Titans quarterbacks in that debacle?

(Answer at the bottom).

Hint: One lost a Super Bowl to Trent Dilfer. The other was a back-to-back Rose Bowl champion in college.

Maybe the strangest play of the day:

On this day: Dave Morehead pitched a no-hitter against Cleveland in 1965. The Red Sox won, 2-0. It would be the final Boston no-hitter until Hideo Nomo in 2001.

Daily highlight: Dearica Hamby made a crucial steal in a WNBA playoff elimination game for the Las Vegas Aces. Then, instead of calmly trying to find an easy basket, Hamby launched a preposterous shot…and made it to give the Aces the (eventual) winner.
