Morning sports update: Adam Schefter thinks Antonio Brown will still be at Patriots practice

The Blue Jays ended a seven-game losing streak by beating the Red Sox 4-3 on Tuesday night. Boston and Toronto resume their series today at 7:07 p.m. in the Rogers Centre.
In a lawsuit filed Tuesday, Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown was accused of raping his former trainer. The Patriots have issued a statement, as has Brown’s legal team.
Adam Schefter talked about the Antonio Brown situation on WEEI: ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter joined WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” on Wednesday morning to discuss the latest on Antonio Brown being accused of sexual assault and rape in a lawsuit filed on Tuesday.
According to Schefter, Brown is likely to practice with the Patriots on Wednesday.
“The NFL has an investigation to conduct, and I guess the Patriots are going to defer the league,” Schefter explained. “I would imagine when they go out to practice, Antonio Brown would be out there. Again, it’s a fluid situation, but I’d guess he’d be out there.”
After initially saying on Tuesday that the NFL could place Brown on the commissioner’s exempt list, Schefter noted on Wednesday that this might not happen right away.
“Talking to some people last night about that possibility,” Schefter explained, “they thought it was a bit premature, but these things change quick and sometimes take unexpected turns.”
In a story published on Wednesday, Washington Post reporter Mark Maske noted that the NFL “will give serious consideration to placing Antonio Brown on paid leave via its commissioner’s exempt list.”
Brown officially signed with the Patriots on Monday.
