Morning sports update: Patriots players trolled Lane Johnson about ‘having fun’ after the Super Bowl parade
"Somebody said it wasn't fun to play in New England."
The Celtics defeated the Cavaliers, 103-96, while the Bruins beat the Islanders at TD Garden, 3-1.
Duron Harmon and Kyle Van Noy trolled Lane Johnson: Patriots players remembered what Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson said a year ago after Philadelphia won the Super Bowl. On Tuesday, they finally responded.
Johnson asserted after the Eagles’ Super Bowl win in 2018 that the Patriots were a “fear-based organization.”
“Do I think people enjoy and can say, ‘I had a lot of fun playing there’?” Johnson asked. “No, I don’t.”
So at the Patriots’ victory parade in Boston, safety Duron Harmon posted a video in which he called out Johnson, captioning the post, “Y’all let Lane Johnson know I’m having fun.”

“When you go to four Super Bowls in six years, that’s fun baby,” Harmon exclaimed in the video.
Harmon also tweeted out the video, and responded to critics.

Harmon wasn’t the only Patriot to respond to Johnson. Linebacker Kyle Van Noy also tweeted out his thoughts.

Johnson, who has made the Patriots a repeated target of his criticism, was apparently unimpressed watching the Super Bowl instead of playing in it.

On this day: In 1999, Patriots star rookie running back Robert Edwards suffered a massive knee injury while playing beach football at the Pro Bowl in Hawaii. Though he didn’t experience much pain initially, Edwards, while going for a Charlie Batch pass, tore his ACL, MCL, PCL, as well as a suffering a partial LCL tear. And because he suffered severe nerve damage and an artery slice, there was a possibility of amputation.
Eventually, Edwards recovered, but he would never play in a regular season game for the Patriots again. After a significant rehab, he was cut by New England in 2001. Still, Edwards – despite being told repeatedly that he had no chance of an NFL comeback – did play again, with the Dolphins in 2002. The former first-round pick would also play multiple seasons in the Canadian Football League, rushing for over 1,000 yards twice.
Daily highlight: David Pastrnak had an empty net towards the end of the Bruins’ win on Tuesday. Instead of scoring, he elected to pass to Patrice Bergeron, who was playing in his 1,000th career NHL game.
