What are you reading at the beach for summer 2026?

Beach bags are not complete without a good book — or several. What are you reading this summer?

With warmer weather (hopefully) on the horizon, New Englanders will soon begin their annual pilgrimage to the region’s many beaches. Among the flocks are the bibliophiles, whose beach bags are not complete without a good book — or several.

There are many titles I can’t wait to read seaside: Emma Straub’s “American Fantasy (released April 7, 2026),” in which a divorcee joins a 1990s boyband cruise; Mollyhall Seeley’s “We Hexed the Moon” (coming out June 9, 2026) about four friends and a celestial sleepover; and the tried-and-true 1987 novel “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe” by Fannie Flagg.
