Jimmy Garoppolo has a theory on why Julian Edelman is so clutch
"He just makes it so much easier on the quarterback."
A day after leading the Patriots to a surprise victory in Arizona against the Cardinals, Jimmy Garoppolo offered some insight into why his favorite target is such a valuable weapon in the New England arsenal.

Julian Edelman, who caught a team-leading seven passes, helped Garoppolo set the tone early in his first NFL start. On the opening drive, Edelman made three clutch catches (including his first one on 3rd and 10) to move the ball downfield. The drive culminated in Garoppolo finding Chris Hogan for a 37-yard touchdown.
And in a Monday appearance on WEEI sports radio show Kirk & Callahan, Garoppolo offered a theory as to why exactly Edelman is so clutch:
It’s a mix, I guess. But Jules, he does a great job. He’s one of those guys that, just the body language that he uses and how he runs his routes so specifically, I mean probably going back to him being a quarterback has something to do with that, but he just makes it so much easier on the quarterback. Finding the soft spot in the zones and everything, it really makes my job a whole lot easier.
Edelman played quarterback in college at Kent State University for three seasons, where he threw 30 touchdowns.
