Tom Brady is sorry for the things he said about Peyton Manning.

According to the Associated Press, the Denver Broncos quarterback told reporters Wednesday that Brady sent him a text apologizing for the emails released in the NFLPA’s ongoing lawsuit to appeal Brady’s four-game Deflategate suspension.

“I’ve got another 7 or 8 years. He has 2,’’ Brady, 38, wrote to a childhood friend in a November email concerning the NFL future of Manning, 39.

“Hey, Tom sent me an apology text that was unnecessary,’’ Manning told reporters after practice. “The fact that his emails got revealed doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. So, no harm, no foul. And (I) didn’t think a lot of it.’’’

‘‘Everybody’s been speculating on that for a long time, so I guess he’s joining the list,’’ he added on the timing of his future retirement.

In another email, a friend emailed Brady that Manning need “things to be perfect’’ such as the weather and system, to succeed.

Manning said he’s heard worse, even going so far to call Brady’s friend’s diss “Amateur Night.’’

“Someone said I was roasted. I mean, I’ve been roasted before. That is not a roast,’’ Manning told the AP. ‘‘… I can promise you that email was Amateur Night compared to some of the things people really said about me.’’
