As Deadline Passes, Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner Hit Free Agency

Tuesday’s 4:00 p.m. start of the NFL’s 2015 league year has come and gone, and with the deadline, Patriots cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner have become free agents.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted out that there is a “sense” that Revis will become a New York Jet, but that the process involving him and the Patriots is still fluid.
Sense out of New England is that Darrelle Revis is likely to be a Jet, per sources. NE still will make final push. Not over yet.

Meanwhile, the team also declined to exercise the option that would have resulted in a $2 million roster bonus for Browner, allowing him to hit the open market, as first reported by Fox Sports 1’s Mike Garafolo.
Patriots have not informed CB Brandon Browner they will exercise his option, therefore he’s a free agent, source says.

By taking this road with Browner, the Pats save $4.8 million against the salary cap, according to The Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe.
Also officially becoming free agents on Tuesday were Vince Wilfork, Akeem Ayers, Alan Branch, Stevan Ridley, Dan Connolly and Danny Aiken. Shane Vereen and Jonathan Casillas, also on that list, both reportedly agreed to deals with the New York Giants on Tuesday afternoon.
