FOXBOROUGH — Black Monday is right around the corner, but regardless of what jobs become available, it does not look like Nick Caserio is leaving the fold anytime soon.

The Patriots signed their director of player personnel to a contract extension that runs through the 2020 season, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Caserio appeared primed for one of the top front office jobs this offseason, and he interviewed for the Miami Dolphins general manager position last January. Caserio has been a part of the Patriots’ front office structure for seven years, but this offseason featured some of his finest work with the signings of cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, wide receiver Brandon LaFell, and safety Patrick Chung.

The Patriots have not reaped the full rewards of the 2014 NFL draft, but have already found a starting center in fourth-round pick Bryan Stork.

Caserio’s handiwork hardly ended in the offseason, though, as the Patriots have made a number of key in-season moves to acquire defensive tackle Alan Branch, running back LeGarrette Blount, and linebackers Jonathan Casillas and Akeem Ayers.

The only constant in the NFL is change, but one thing that won’t change this season — or apparently anytime soon — is Caserio’s presence in the Patriots’ front office structure.
