Morning sports update: Paul Pierce says Kevin Durant joined the ‘bully’s gang’ when he signed with the Warriors
Chris Sale allows six runs in his first outing against the White Sox, Anders Bjork is excited for the challenge of playing with the Bruins, and Markelle Fultz really wants to be the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NBA draft.
Paul Pierce compares Kevin Durant joining the Warriors to a kid joining the bullies that beat him up: “I’m just not built like that. I’m not a guy who goes into the neighborhood, gets beat up by the bully’s gang and now I want to join your gang. That’s just not me. I want to fight. Let’s go. I’m gonna stand up for myself.” (For The Win)

Markelle Fultz has talked to Danny Ainge ‘few times,’ wants to be No. 1: “I’ve talked to Danny a few times, and they want to get me to come out there for a visit,” Fultz told ESPN. “They just want to get a chance to know me better as a person. Al Horford, Isaiah Thomas see Celtics as an attractive option for free agents this offseason: “I haven’t really spoken to anyone. But if they’re looking at us, they’re looking at a team that plays hard, that plays together, that plays like a team,” Horford said recently. “There’s a lot of potential here. We were a consistent team all year, and I feel like the future is very bright. So if I’m a free agent I’m looking at all those things. Add in the great city we’re in and the tradition here. This looks like a very special place I’m sure guys want to be a part of.” (Boston Herald)
Sale struggles, but Marrero hits 2 HRs to lift Red Sox: “I don’t know how many times I’ve given up six runs and still been in a pretty good mood after the game,” Sale said. “That says a lot about my guys behind me.” (Boston.com)
