Eight Hockey East teams will participate, with doubleheaders scheduled for Jan. 7 and 14. Exact game times are to be determined, and ticket information will be “announced in the coming months,” according to a press release about the event.
Here’s the schedule:
Saturday, January 7, 2017:
Boston University vs. University of Massachusetts
Boston College vs. Providence College
Saturday, January 14, 2017:
University of Maine vs. University of Connecticut
University of New Hampshire vs. Northeastern University
In addition to the college hockey, Frozen Fenway 2017 will include high school games and a free public skate on January 16.
“Outdoor hockey is quickly becoming a staple on Boston’s winter sports calendar and we look forward to joining with Hockey East and the City of Boston to build on that tradition by bringing some of the most accomplished and talented collegiate teams in the country to compete on the ice at Fenway Park,” Red Sox President Sam Kennedy said in the announcement.
