Watch Jackie Bradley Jr. get the first hit of the Red Sox season
Bradley Jr.'s double was the first of four for the Red Sox in the third inning.
Jackie Bradley Jr. began the final year of his contract on Friday, and he wasted no time in making an impact.
In the bottom of the third inning in Friday’s game against the Orioles, Bradley Jr. hit a double along the left-field line in his first at-bat of the season, which was also the Red Sox first hit of the 2020 season. It didn’t take long for Bradley Jr. to score. Jose Peraza hit a double to left field in his first at-bat with the Red Sox to score Bradley Jr. from second and give the Red Sox a 1-0 lead.

Peraza’s RBI double was the first of four runs the Red Sox scored in the third inning. J.D. Martinez knocked in Peraza with an RBI double and Kevin Pillar hit a two-RBI double, which was his first hit as a member of the Red Sox, to knock in Martinez and Rafael Devers, who walked to get on base.
Bradley Jr. followed up his first at-bat with a walk in the fourth that was a part of a six-running inning for the Sox, putting them up 10-0. He struck out in his second at-bat of the frame.
