The Red Sox look to match their longest win streak of the season Thursday night against the Rangers, the Celtics face a must-win Game 5 at the Garden, and the Patriots are hosting their first OTA open to the media.

David Price allows 6 runs in 3 2/3 innings in rehab start with PawSox, leaves without speaking to reporters: “Price said he felt good after his outing,” PawSox manager Kevin Boles said. “Obviously, he burned through his pitch count. Command is not what he was looking for. I think if you asked him that. Overall, he said he felt good. I thought the stuff was actually pretty good, it’s just the command and location, which is to be expected. He is coming off an injury.” (WEEI)

Red Sox score 7 in 7th to beat Rangers 9-4: Dustin Pedroia waved home the tiebreaking run on a wild pitch, then singled in two more as the Red Sox turned a 3-1 deficit into a five-run lead and earned their third straight victory. (Boston.com)

Chris Sale’s run of games with at least 10 strikeouts ends at 8 in row: On the cusp of setting a modern-era single-season record with his ninth consecutive start with at least 10 strikeouts, the Boston Red Sox ace lefty fanned only six Texas Rangers batters, his lowest total of the season. But there wasn’t a soul in Fenway Park on Wednesday night that probably cared less about the so-called record than Sale, who said after a start last week in Oakland that he would “rather be 8-0 with no punchouts.” (ESPN)

Hanley Ramirez won’t be playing 1B in near future: “If it’s available to us, yeah,” Farrell said when asked whether he wants to see Hanley play first against American League ballclubs. “But I think at the same time, you know, if physically that’s creating some issues for him, what I don’t want to do is jeopardize and miss at-bats in the DH slot.” (WEEI)

Patriots have added players who scored a combined 28 TDs last season: The total is more than the previous seven defending Super Bowl champions combined. The previous high mark of touchdowns added by a defending Super Bowl champion was 12, by the Baltimore Ravens in 2013. (ESPN)

Watch: Receiver Andrew Hawkins announces he’s joining the Patriots: In his explanation for why he specifically chose the Patriots, the 31-year-old emphasized his desire to join a contender, calling the Pats “THE contender,” and cited the draw of joining a top-notch program with the “best quarterback and best coach in NFL history.” (Boston.com)
