Red Sox Call Up Jackie Bradley Jr.
Steven Wright is optioned to Pawtucket to make room for Bradley.
Jackie Bradley Jr. is getting another crack at the big leagues. The Red Sox called up the 25-year-old outfielder Tuesday and optioned Steven Wright to Triple-A in order make room on the roster.
Bradley hit .198 last season in 384 major league at-bats, but had been hitting .315 this season in AAA. Regarded as a top notch defensive player, Bradley got the call to the big leagues with Shane Victorino on the DL and Mike Napoli battling an illness.
Daniel Nava is starting at first base Tuesday against the Blue Jays, and Brock Holt gets the nod in right field.
