Ellsbury leaves early; Drew gets cortisone shot

Jacoby Ellsbury left this afternoon’s game against the Rangers early with what the team is calling a right shoulder strain. Ellsbury injured the shoulder making a great sliding catch near the triangle in center field. Ellsbury was replaced in center by Mark Kotsay, who slid over from right field. Rocco Baldelli came into the game to play right.

J.D. Drew sat out today’s game after receiving a cortisone shot in his left shoulder. Drew said he “completely” expects to be back in the lineup Tuesday night against the Yankees.
