Report: Torre, Dodgers talking
The Dodgers are talking to Joe Torre about making him their next manager, two baseball officials told the L.A. Times yesterday.
The hiring of Torre would necesitate the firing of Grady Little, who is the currently the Dodgers manager. Dodgers owner Frank McCourt told the Times at the end of the season that Little would be back next spring. A source told ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian today that the Dodgers and Little will simply part ways, and that Little was not totally happy with his situation.
Torre recently ended a 12-year tenure as manager of the New York Yankees. The popular manager turned down a 1-year, $5 million offer to manage the Yankees next season.
UPDATE: Grady Little has resigned as manager of the Dodgers.
