Tonight’s NY lineup
The Yankees took their time posting their lineup for tonight’s game, announcing it just past 4:30. The Globe’s Amalie Bejamin suggested the theory that they were waiting as long as they could hold to see if recently signed Terrence Long could make it to Boston in time.
Long is in the lineup in left field and batting eight. Johnny Damon will bat leadoff, but as the designated hitter. Bernie Williams will instead play center.
