No surprise, Damon booed

Johnny Damon received another negative reception from the Fenway crowd when he stepped to the plate in the first inning tonight. But while it was relatively about as loud as it was in his return here three weeks ago, it was not the overwhelming, drawn-out affair it was then.

And no tip of the cap from Damon.

  • Throwing out tonight’s first pitch, Boston native Mike O’Malley of “Yes, Dear” fame.
  • Game-time temperature is 63 degrees with 17 mph winds coming out of the northwest.
  • Gary Sheffield has singled in the first inning in his rehab assignment with the Trenton Thunder at New Britain.
