As a guard for the Boston Celtics in the 80’s, Danny Ainge had a never-back-down approach to the game. As a father of six in 2017, Ainge wants his son Tanner to embody those same qualities throughout his congressional campaign.

In the race to replace Republican Jason Chaffetz, Tanner, 33, is looking to become one of the four members of Utah’s House of Representatives. And his dad has been nothing but supportive—despite the brief drama surrounding former Jazz forward Gordon Hayward, who recently signed with the Celtics.

Via Twitter on Thursday, Danny shared a memory from his basketball career that he feels encapsulates Tanner’s tenacity to “tackle debt and spending in Congress.” Using footage from his on-court brawl with former Atlanta Hawks center Tree Rollins, he masterfully photo-shopped his son’s campaign logo over his face and “national debt” over Rollins’. The incident, which occurred during a playoff game in 1983, is one of the more infamous scuffles in NBA history.
