#TBT: LeBron James Took Over the NBA the Last Time He Played a Postseason Game In Boston

It wasn’t long ago that the Celtics were LeBron James’ biggest nemesis. In both 2008 and 2010, the C’s ended his season earlier than he’d hoped, with the second time such a disaster that he removed his Cavaliers jersey while still on the court at the end of the deciding game, then publicly humiliated the city of Cleveland on his way to Miami just a few weeks later.

LeBron would get his revenge as a member of the Miami Heat, first in 2011, but in far more explosive fashion a year later, when he took the proverbial “next step’’ on the TD Garden floor.

This #TBT harkens back to that night, June 7, 2012, when LeBron ascended into the highest strata of NBA stardom with an all-time performance, featuring 45 points on 19-of-26 shooting, 15 rebounds and five assists, saving the Heat from a 3-2 Eastern Conference Finals deficit on the road and propelling them to the first of consecutive NBA championships.

That Game 6 was the last time LeBron played a postseason game in the city of Boston, until Thursday night, when the Celtics try to claw back from their 0-2 deficit.
