Down 1-0, no time to panic

The Celtics lost Game 1 of their first-round series against the Chicago Bulls and had a chance to close it out in six games. Paul Pierce was asked if there was a different feeling being down 1-0 to the Magic this time around.

“When you lose it’s the same feeling,” said Pierce. “You don’t want to lose. You hate to lose that first game, especially at home. You got the home court advantage and you worked all year for it and just like we gave it away two series in a row.

“But we battled uphill last series, and that’s what it’s going to be this series.”

Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said he didn’t think his team had earned a distinct advantage by winning Game 1 on the road.

“When you are playing a team as good as Boston, I do not think that it is that big a deal,” said Van Gundy. “They are certainly very good and are capable of going on the road and winning. I don’t really take that into consideration too much.”
