Phelps visits with Celtics
Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps stopped by the Celtics locker room after the game to chat with players.
Phelps, who is not as tall as he appears on television, was seen talking with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Sam Cassel, among others. Tony Allen was heard asking, ‘What’s his name, again?”, but other than that, the Celtics seemed very pleased to have the 14-time Olympic gold medalist in their midst.
“It was good to meet him,” said Pierce. “We always respect great athletes. He’s one of our peers of our generation. We can say down the line to our kids that he was one of the best while we were playing.”
