Boston Celtics

Celtics, 84-71 (3)

What a third quarter for the Celtics.

After owning a six-point lead at halftime, the C’s outscored the Pistons 32-25 in the third. If the Pistons are going to come back in this game, they better hurry.

Ray Allen had 16 points in the period for Boston. More importantly, he looks like he has his confidence back. His buckets have all come at key times, on penetration and from the perimeter (5 of 6 on three-pointers). He’s been very aggressive.

Kendrick Perkins continues to be a beast. He has 18 points and 16 rebounds. The miraculous thing is that Perkins has only two fouls.

Boston forced Detroit into 8 turnovers in the quarter. The Celtics are out-rebounding the Pistons, 35-18. The Celtics bench still has not scored a single point in this game.
