Pistons, 50-43 (half)
It took them a game and a half, but the Pistons have finally arrived.
The Celtics missed their first six shots of the second quarter as the Pistons established a substantial lead for the first time this series. A three by James Posey with 7:01 remaining in the half was the first bucket of the quarter for the Celtics. Boston also had 6 turnovers in the period.
On the other end, the Pistons heated up, raising their shooting percentage from 37 percent at the end of the first quarter to 52 percent for the game. Antonio McDyess has 11 points for Detroit on 5 of 8 shooting. Rip Hamilton has 15.
Paul Pierce (15 points) and Kevin Garnett (12 points) are pacing the Celtics, but the team isn’t getting much offense from anywhere else.
The crowd is pretty quiet, but the home team hasn’t given them much to cheer about of late.
More to come in the second half.
