Pressure’s on …
The Celtics have yet to win a game on the road this postseason (0-5), and with Game 6 coming up in Cleveland Friday night, the logical thought is that the Celtics must win tonight’s Game 5 to avoid going to Cleveland down 3-2.
So who is the pressure on?
“There’s pressure on us,” LeBron James said in the locker room before tonight’s game. “I’m the leader of this team, so when things go wrong I hear it all…We’ve been in this situation, I can tell you that.”
Celtics coach Doc Rivers took the diplomatic route.
“Game 5 and Game 7 are very similar,” said Rivers. “They’re swing games. They’re very important [for both teams].”
Rivers was reminded that despite this series being tied 2-2, talk amongst the fans and the media has made it sounds like the Celtics are trailing.
“It’s probably the expectations,” said Rivers. “The city we live in probably has a lot to do with it as well. Our guys understand that. And listen. Our goals haven’t changed. We’re still chasing the same thing, and we have an opportunity to do it.”
