Boston Celtics

Welcome to the Garden

Welcome to the Garden, where the Celtics (15-2) will take on the Toronto Raptors (10-9) at 7:30 p.m.

The big news here is that Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani did not travel with the Raptors and will not play tonight. Bosh has been bothered by a strained groin and will miss his fifth consecutive game. He is Toronto’s leading scorer, averaging 18.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

Bargnani suffered a hyperextended left knee on Saturday against Washington.

The Raptors were the class of the Atlantic Division last season, but the Celtics have already opened up a six-game lead over the Canadian team.

These two teams met in Boston’s second game of the season, when the Celtics pulled out an overtime win in Toronto. Ray Allen hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Celtics a 98-95 win.

Eddie House is the lone Celtic warming up right now. The Raptors have five players going through various drills on the other end of the court.

House is currently going through a drill I did at basketball camp in middle school. Good shooters like to get their bearings, and House spent about five minutes taking jumpers from straight away, making sure he was seeing the rim correctly. He started in closer and gradually stepped back to gauge his stroke. House made sure he had his range down before taking any shots from an angle.

We’ll have more updates from the Garden when the locker rooms open in a few minutes. Let’s hope the snow doesn’t keep too many people away tonight. And if it does — check back here for some behind-the-scenes updates.
